Happy Diwali, New Moon in Scorpio, Samhain, Hallows Eve, Day of The Dead!
A time to give gratitude to the Light and Life, and embrace the Darkness and Death with the same amount of love and devotion.
I’m not talking about that ultimate final death at the end of human life, but those little deaths that we face, often on a daily basis.
Death is fundamental for our existence…without it there can be no recognition of the total beauty, wonder and blessing that is Life.
Death is the sacred and empty container that allows Life, all of Existence to rise in honest and raw truthfulness. The two operate as one. Yet to the human ego it seems like two separate world’s! And the fear we have of facing these little deaths is directly mirroring our ultimate pain of separation from life, from love, from each other, the world around us and ultimately God.
I know this fear very well…it has been my friend for some years…
But on the other hand I also have to laugh as I know that everything that I long for and deeply desire in Life: love, power, purpose, abundance, joy, freedom; is waiting to be embraced and embodied the moment I allow myself to die. Space must be created in my being to allow Life’s gifts to penetrate.
So these are the questions I ask myself constantly…can I allow myself to relax fully into the unknown? Can I surrender through the layers of what seems so real and true and let strong held ideas and beliefs dissolve? Can I let go through this seemingly solid ground where I’m in control and feeding my separate self and give way to feel Life’s inevitable pain without wanting anything else?
This is work in progress for me…
And I’m fully aware that the suffering and pain that needs to be met with on the way to death and the courage it takes to go there is no joke...
So I’m wishing you all courage, bravery, love and softness as we step forward into the darkness of winter and embrace those little deaths as true gifts from Life.
In love and awe for each one of you brave souls, and for Life herself!
“Normally we do not like to think about death.
We would rather think about life.
Why reflect on death?
When you start preparing for death you soon realize that you must look into your life now… and come to face the truth of your self.
Death is like a mirror in which the true meaning of life is reflected.”
